David Bowie shares ambitious ‘Lazarus’ video

David Bowie has shared another dramatic, otherworldly video to preview his new album ‘Blackstar’.
With the 25th studio album out tomorrow (8th January), Bowie’s latest clip for ‘Lazarus’ finds him bed-ridden and blinded, rising from the dead before strutting dance moves that’d put Strictly to shame.

Johan Renck directs, and he had this to say about the experience: “One could only dream about collaborating with a mind like that; let alone twice. Intuitive, playful, mysterious and profound… I have no desire to do any more videos knowing the process never ever gets as formidable and fulfilling as this was. I’ve basically touched the sun.”

DIY’s verdict of ‘Blackstar’ is in, by the way. Danny Wright say the album “shows that ‘The Next Day’ was merely a deep breath, the chance to gather himself before a new beginning, a way of freeing himself up for his next move.”
