David Bowie turned down Danny Boyle’s idea for a musical
Apparently Danny’s “in grief” over the whole thing.
Danny Boyle has revealed that David Bowie turned down his idea for a Bowie-themed musical.
Speaking to the Radio Times, Boyle expressed his “grief” at being turned down by the star, as he was “very keen” on the project and had apparently been working on it for a while. It all came crashing down, though, when Bowie himself rejected Boyle’s requests to use his music as part of the film. He instead began work on his recently released Steve Jobs biopic to “fill the space in my heart left by the abandoned Bowie script.”
It was also recently revealed that Bowie is set to release another new album, titled ‘Blackstar’, early next year. Whether or not he’ll tour it seems unlikely, as he’s apparently given up on that.
