David Byrne dances to ‘Uptown Funk’ at his own tribute concert

David Byrne surprised guests at his own tribute concert in New York last night, with fan footage capturing the Talking Heads frontman dancing to Mark Ronson’s ‘Uptown Funk’.

‘The Music of David Byrne & Talking Heads’ at Carnegie Hall, New York took place last night (24th March) and featured artists such as The Roots, Cee Lo Green, and Santigold performing work from Byrne’s catalogue.

The crowd-shot footage shows Bryne joining the Brooklyn United Marching Band in a medley of ‘God’s Army’ and ‘Uptown Funk’. Prior to Bryne’s appearance, Cee Lo Green performed ‘Take Me To The River’, while Santigold took on ‘Burning Down The House’
