David Byrne announces new album ‘American Utopia’
He’s also shared ‘Everybody’s Coming To My House’.

Talking Head and bona fide legend David Byrne is set to return with a new album!
His new record ‘American Utopia’ will be out on 9th March through Todomundo/Nonesuch and was made in collaboration with Brian Eno and Rodaidh McDonald, as well as featuring contributions from artists such as Oneohtrix Point Never, Jam City, Doveman and even one Jack Peñate. In advance of the LP, he’s shared new track ‘Everybody’s Coming To My House’, which was co-written with Eno and also includes contributions from Sampha, TTY, Happa Isaiah Barr and more – everybody did indeed come then!
As reported by Pitchfork, ‘American Utopia’ is part of his ongoing ‘Reasons To Be Cheerful’ series where he curates hopeful writings, photos, music and lectures. In a statement, he said: “These songs don’t describe an imaginary or possibly impossible place but rather attempt to depict the world we live in now […] Many of us, I suspect, are not satisfied with that world—the world we have made for ourselves. We look around and we ask ourselves—well, does it have to be like this? Is there another way? These songs are about that looking and that asking”.
Back in December, David also lined up a string of dates in the US for March, which he said would be his “most ambitious show I’ve done since the shows that were filmed for Stop Making Sense”.
