Declan McKenna gets a workout in his ‘Why Do You Feel So Down?’ video
He’s also off on a UK tour a bit later this month!
Following the release of his debut album ‘What Do You Think About The Car?’ earlier in the year, Declan McKenna’s got a new clip for ‘Why Do You Feel So Down?’
Talking of the track, Declan said: “I really don’t know where the whole sparkly slacker pop thing came from but it happened, I think it’s because the whole song is kind of jokey, making fun of myself (and a lot of other things) so it came out as an almost piss-take dance tune, but it’s also a bit sad. It’s a lot of things, I think I was just sixteen when I started on this one. I was a confused babby…”
The track’s new video – directed by Phil Poole – sees Deccers taking part in some good old fashioned morning telly, alongside a Mr. Motivator-style leader, as the lyrics to the track scroll by like rolling news. Deccers and his fellow workout buddies also occasionally hold up a few signs, asking questions like: “do you care?”
Declan has just played a couple of UK dates, and he’s set to continue his run around the country later in the month. Tickets are on sale now.
