On fire
DELS shares new track, ‘Burning Beaches’ (feat. Rosie Lowe)
Track appears on ‘Petals Have Fallen’.
As well as being DELS’ most affecting, hard-hitting record to date, new LP ‘Petals Have Fallen’ happens to be a wise showcase in what’s around the corner for UK talent.
Tirzah lends ominous calls to a slumbered, closing title-track, Micachu and Kwes add production knowhow to lead track ‘RGB’ and then there’s Rosie Lowe, a more-than-promising newcomer cropping up on LP highlight ‘Burning Beaches’.
Lowe recalls distant stories (“Swimming at the deep end / singing at moonrise / screaming as the sun falls”), documenting descent in various forms. On the flipside, this might be the strongest realisation of DELS’ wild ideas yet.
‘Petals Have Fallen’ is out 3rd November on Big Dada (Young Fathers / Kate Tempest). Pre-order.
