DIY Weekly, 21st October 2013 - Feat. Best Coast, Poliça & More

DIY’s free music weekly contains TOY, Bastille, Arcade Fire & loads more.

DIY Weekly - the free music weekly - is fronted this time round by Best Coast.

This week’s coverstars have everything in their hands, control over every aspect of their music for the first time ever with new album ‘Fade Away’. Beth Cosentino wrapped up a deal with Mexican Summer and started her own record-label to release the band’s mini-album return. Speaking to DIY, she’s sticking to her guns more than ever before.

Also in the latest issue - available on iPad and online for free - Poliça talk about challenging perceptions with new record ‘Shulamith’, confessing to being ‘very angry people’ in the process.

Elsewhere, Frankie Rose claims people might not ‘get’ her new album, while on the flipside Bastille rides the high of his debut full-length by speaking to DIY about his two sold-out nights at London’s Brixton Academy.

There’s word from TOY, who’ve just announced their ‘Join The Dots’ album; Breton escape the studio and discuss fleeing their ‘bunker’ and Spector psyche themselves up for the third leg of DIY x Dr. Martens’ #STANDFORSOMETHING tour.

Arcade Fire’s ‘Reflektor’ gets the official DIY verdict, with Swearin’, Of Montreal and Omar Souleyman’s latest records also getting reviewed.

In Neu, fresh-faced genius Kiran Leonard puts the cool in being clever and uncle-nephew duo Casimer&Casimir provide an exclusive mix.

It’s all yours, for exactly zero pence. Grab the issue on iTunes to download the iPad version, or simply read the whole thing on Issuu online, right now.
