A documentary about M.I.A. will premiere at Sundance
‘MATANGI/ MAYA/ M.I.A.’ has been directed by Stephen Loveridge.

A new documentary about M.I.A. is set to premiere at 2018’s Sundance Film Festival.
As reported by Stereogum, ‘MATANGI/ MAYA/ M.I.A.’ has been directed by Stephen Loveridge. According to Sundance, the film was “drawn from a never before seen cache of personal footage spanning decades”. The film will be competing in the ‘World Cinema Documentary’ competition at the event.
The filmic portrait of M.I.A. isn’t the only music documentary to be screened at Sundance next year either. There’s also set to be a documentary about Joan Jett, as well as a film about Texan country outlaw Blaze Foley.
Earlier in the year, M.I.A. shared a video for her track ‘Finally’, a smooth, somewhat dancehall-inspired number.
