Drones Club take the tube in video for ‘International’
Some pretty funky moves come to the Jubilee Line for today’s Neu Pick.
Every weekday, DIY’s new music know-it-all Neu brings you one essential new release to get obsessed with. Today’s Neu Pick comes from Drones Club.
You know how it goes. You’re on the night tube (thanks to our lord and saviour Sadiq Khan) coming home from a large one, get onto the platform and just can’t stop busting some terrible moves that will inevitably end up on about ten Instagram stories.
Drones Club take this age old situation to film for their new clip for single ‘International’, today’s Neu Pick. Luckily, they also replace the drunken waddle with some actually-very-good dancing.
‘International’ is an absolute corker too. Robotic vocals collide chaotically with chunky, out-of-control synths in a track that’s invigorating in the extreme.
Penning some equally intense words on the track, the band say: “International is Drones Club’s universal fanfare. “The heralding of the new age promised by the White Crocodile. For we are all the same, the people and the ants, the rice and the stars. But let’s start right here, right now on this dirty rock jamming thru space.
We, the people are eachother. Lovers, brothers, mothers and others, nothing but half-forgotten family. Let’s remember that and move fwd with deep solidarity, share our pain and share our laughter for ever after. We are human to the bone, tear down all the borders and come on home.”
