Ducktails shares ‘In The Hallway’ from new album ‘Jersey Devil’

Matt Mondanile is releasing his sixth full-length album as Ducktails next month, and we’ve got the first play of the next of its previews.

‘Jersey Devil’ arrives on 6th October via the singer’s own label New Images, and its latest cut ‘In The Hallway’ is an intriguing preview.

Based around lo-fi guitars and breath-y vocals, all manner of jazz-flecked tangents fly off around it, and it’s a track that feels truly alive.

Bringing in all manner of friends to assist across the writing and recording process for ‘Jersey Devil’, the track and the album as a whole feel like a melting pot of criss-crossing ideas, and it helps Ducktails feel incredibly fresh, even six albums in. Its intimacy was regained though when the album was finished - poetically - in Mondanile’s mother’s basement.
