El-P shares clean version of ‘Run The Jewels 2’
Close Your Eyes (And Count To Expletive Deleted).
Run The Jewels’ second album is undoubtedly brilliant but the Parental Advisory sticker for bad language may put some people off. However earlier today El-P shared a clean edit of the album, made by the band’s tour DJ, DJ Trackstar.
Anticipating the reaction, he followed up the download by answering, “Who the hell would want that El?”
This isn’t the first time ‘Run The Jewels 2’ has been toyed with as the band are currently working on Meow The Jewels, a remix album of cat sounds and beats that started as a joke, but after a successful Kickstarter became a reality.
Run The Jewels have been confirmed for a number of festivals including Field Day, Primavera and Reading & Leeds Festival alongside a headline date at London’s Forum on 7th June.
The clean version of ‘Run The Jewels 2’ seems to be a success so maybe this will be the first of many.
Run The Jewels will play Field Day (6th - 7th June), where DIY is an official media partner. Tickets are on sale now. Visit diymag.com/presents for more information.
