Elbow’s Guy Garvey readies solo material
Frontman is putting the initial works into a “side-project on the go,” he confirms.
Elbow’s Guy Garvey has confirmed that he’s working on his first ever solo album.
The band’s frontman - while further adding that he’s working on lyrics for the new Elbow record - called his solo work “a side-project on the go,” in an interview with Gigwise.
“I’m going down to Real World Studios to write some songs and see where it goes,” he detailed. “I love being in the honest and even-handed democracy that is Elbow, but I fancy being the boss for a bit, so I’m going to do a side-project. It will either be great, and a right laugh, or a disaster, and a right laugh.”
His band recently released ‘The Take Off And Landing Of Everything’, their first ever chart-topping album in the UK Official Charts. They went on to play second from top at Glastonbury 2014.
This summer, they play Chelmsford’s V Festival, 16th-17th August.
