Eric Prydz’s remix of CHVRCHES’ ‘Tether’ gets atmospheric video
The Swedish DJ has reworked the band’s ‘The Bones Of What You Believe’ highlight.
Last month, Eric Prydz revealed an Ibiza-ready re-imagining of CHVRCHES’ track ‘Tether’, and now it’s been given a rather atmospheric video to match.
Taken from a forthcoming Prydz release out later this year, his edit of ‘The Bones of What You Believe’ cut premiered on Zane Lowe’s Radio 1 show back in January. Now, it’s been given an accompanying clip which sees a series of metallic cubes floating above a sun-drenched desert, before bursting into frenetic light patterns and morphing into giant video screens in space, obviously.
Check out the clip, which echoes back to some of CHVRCHES’ earlier sci-fi-leaning videos, below.
‘Tether’ is originally taken from Chvrches’ 2013 debut LP but at the beginning of this year, the Scottish trio entered the studio to begin recording LP2. “We sort of wanted to protect the dynamic of ‘three people in a room at once’ idea, because that’s the way that the first album came about,” Martin Doherty told DIY. “When you’ve been on tour as much as we have been in the past two years, you don’t really have a choice. You either create on the road or you don’t do anything and the idea of coming back after three years of doing absolutely nothing - and not even working those muscles creatively - is insane.”
