Ezra Koenig talks pranking with Florence + The Machine on latest Beats1 show
The Vampire Weekend frontman also spun ABBA, and interviewed actress Rashida Jones about rejecting Robin Thicke.
On Ezra Koenig’s latest Beats1 Time Crisis show, he invited Florence + The Machine in for a chat, and the two talked pranking when they first met. Appearing around the 50 minute mark, Florence Welch speaks about how she first met Ezra through a spot of backstage pranking with accomplice Andrew VanWyngarden of MGMT. The two of them hid in Koenig’s dressing room and sprayed him with juiceboxes, and they’ve been friends ever since. Nawh.
Elsewhere in the show, Ezra Koenig played music from ABBA, Serge Gainsbourg, Nelly, and Jamie T. Actress Rashida Jones appears briefly around the 11:30 mark to tell Ezra about rejecting Robin Thicke at school. Cousin Asher also returns to the show, revealing that he secret sung some of the many Billy Joel songs that dominated the first episode of Time Crisis.
Listen back to Ezra Koenig’s second episode of Time Crisis on Apple Music.
