Father John Misty covers Leonard Cohen’s ’Bird On The Wire’
Josh Tillman takes to a run of UK shows this week.
Father John Misty has covered Leonard Cohen’s ‘Bird On The Wire’, this time as a guest on Canadian programme ‘The Strombo Show’.
It follows Josh Tillman’s recent cover of Cohen’s ‘I’m Your Man’ which he has performed during concerts in North America. Tillman also covered Nirvana’s ‘Heart-Shaped Box’, sharing his rendition on Valentine’s Day.
The video was shot by Woods & Wires, with the show hosted by George Stroumboulopoulos. Speaking about the track after a stirring, melancholic performance, Stroumboulopoulos asked J. Tillman when he first heard the track, revealing that it was only in his twenties, calling it one of his many “musical blindspots”.
Father John Misty began a tour of UK last night in Glasgow, following the release of his new album ‘I Love You Honeybear’ last month. Tickets for the remaining dates can be found here. Father John Misty will play the following:

26 London, The Village Underground
