Father John Misty returns to the drum kit for Butch Bastard’s new single
Fleet Foxes’ former sticksman Josh Tilman drums on ‘Magnolia’.
Stepping out from behind the kit and becoming a bona fide frontman with as much panache as Phil Collins emerging in a beam of golden spotlight, Father John Misty’s days of being ‘Fleet Foxes’ drummer’ are firmly behind him. Now, though, Josh Tilman’s made a return to the paradiddles for Butch Bastard’s new single, ‘Magnolia’.
Butch Bastard is the new project of Ian Murray - who used to be in a band called Poor Moon with various other members of Fleet Foxes. ‘Magnolia’ appears on Murray’s forthcoming album ‘I Am Not a Man.’
Butch Bastard wrote and recorded majority of the album at home, finishing things off at Fivestar Studios in Echo Park, with Jonathan Wilson (who produced FJM’s albums ‘I Love You, Honeybear’ and ‘Fear Fun’)
