Father John Misty unveils politically charged new track ‘Holy Hell’
The song follows on from his cover of ‘Trump’s Private Pilot’.
In the wake of the US Presidential Election, Father John Misty has shared a brand new track, ‘Holy Hell.’
Josh Tillman covered the anti-Trump song ‘Trump’s Private Pilot,’ originally written by Tim Heidecker, before the election but in the wake of the result he’s not pulling any punches. The politically charged piano ballad talks about “highly effective rhetoric” and the “perverts who get off on it,” as well as lamenting that “the future ain’t looking so bright.”
It’s not all doom and gloom though. Tillman ends with the lines “the world won’t end unless we want it to/ There’s no one in control/ And it’s our life to choose.” Father John Misty: always looking on the bright side of life.
