Fenne Lily signs to Dead Oceans – hear new single ‘Hypochondriac’
The Bristol-based singer is set to support Lucy Dacus on an upcoming UK and European tour.
Bristol-based singer Fenne Lily has announced that she’s signed to Dead Oceans, and shared a new single.
‘Hypochondriac’ is her first release with the label, home to Phoebe Bridgers, Mitski, Bright Eyes and more.
“The song’s theme was realised immediately,” Fenne says of the process of creating ‘Hypochondriac’, revealing that the new single discusses “pressure to feel enough but not too much in a time of hyper connectivity, plus a personal reminder to be accountable for and have agency over the part of me that gravitates towards meltdown.
“It’s the first in a collection of tracks addressing myself as both the cause of and solution to my anxieties, as well as a shift in attention from predominantly relationship-based writing to a more self-reflective dialogue.”
The new song follows the singer’s self-released debut album ‘On Hold’, which came out in 2018.
The release of ‘Hypochondriac’ comes ahead of a UK and European tour in support of Lucy Dacus, and slots at Green Man and End Of The Road festivals.
