FFS (Franz Ferdinand and Sparks) share video for ‘Call Girl’
The song comes from the collaborative group’s self-titled debut.
Sparks and Franz Ferdinand’s collaborative band FFS have shared the video for ‘Call Girl’. The song’s taken from their self-titled debut album, which came out in June this year.
Speaking to DIY earlier in 2015, Alex Kapranos said that after “twelve years of searching to find a moustache that meets the expectations of our [Franz Ferdinand] namesake,” his band finally ended up working with cult synth duo Sparks. “We wanted to create this third voice, and confound the listener’s expectation,” he added. “We see FFS as something distinct.”
Directed by Sasha Rainbow, the visual shows a black and white Alex Kapranos and Sparks’ Russell Mael jolting robot-like through geometric backdrops. Ron Mael is there, too, doing his trademark deadpan keyboards. The whole video has a definite air of the eccentric artistic duo Gilbert & George about it’s super-graphic style, too. Watch it below.
