Fleet Foxes share ‘If You Need To, Keep Time On Me’ video
Choreographer Ryan Heffington both directs and stars in the band’s new clip.
Fleet Foxes have shared their new video for ‘If You Need To, Keep Time On Me’.
Taken from their most recent album ‘Crack-Up’ - which was released last year via Nonesuch Records - the track’s accompanying clip stars and is directed by Ryan Heffington, the choreographer behind both Sia’s ‘Chandelier’ video and Arcade Fire’s ‘We Exist’ clip, who transform his dinner party hosting duties into, well, a full-blown dance piece.
According to Pitchfork, Heffington made the following statement about the clip: “It was the pure honesty of the music and Robin Pecknold’s voice that originally drew me to direct/choreograph ‘If You Need To, Keep Time on Me’.
“Heartbreak being one of the most honest and visceral symptoms of love, I wanted to paint a realistic picture of humanity and share a story that so many of us have encountered. Using dance as an offering has defined my adult life and I believe in its healing power—for both the dancer and the witness. I wanted to capture this in the film, whether it is seen as surreal or organic.”
The video lands ahead of Fleet Foxes upcoming appearance at this year’s Green Man Festival, which takes place from 16th - 19th August and will play host to The War On Drugs, Grizzly Bear, Dirty Projectors and loads more.
