Florence + The Machine says Glastonbury headline slot is “an incredible honour”

Florence Welch says it’s “an incredible honour” to headline Glastonbury 2015, after she was announced as a last-minute replacement for Foo Fighters.

Earlier today, Glastonbury announced that Florence + The Machine would be stepping up the Pyramid Stage bill. Foo Fighters had to cancel, after Dave Grohl broke his leg falling off stage in Sweden.

“I’m so sorry to hear that Dave Grohl has broken his leg,” says Florence. “I met him when we were just starting out and he is honestly one of the most wonderful people I have ever met. Having just experienced a broken foot I know how devastating it can be to break something on stage so I am sending him all my love.”

She continues: “Glastonbury have asked us to step in which is an incredible honour. We hope we will be able to give you just as good a Friday night as the Foos.”

Florence will headline Friday 26th June, with Kanye West and The Who topping the Saturday and Sunday nights respectively at Glastonbury.
