Florence + The Machine announced as Foo Fighters’ replacement in Glastonbury 2015 headline slot
Florence moves up the bill after Dave Grohl’s broken leg rules out the Foos.
Florence + The Machine have been confirmed as the replacement headliners for Glastonbury 2015, standing in for Foo Fighters, who were forced to cancel last night following Dave Grohl’s broken leg, suffered at a Swedish show last Friday.
Originally planned as the second top act on the Friday night Pyramid Stage bill, Florence moves up to the top spot. It’s yet to be confirmed if another act will be brought in to replace her original slot. Motorhead previously took the third from top billing.
A statement on the Glastonbury website reads:
“We’re very pleased to announce that Florence + The Machine will play the Friday night Pyramid headline slot, which Foo Fighters were forced to withdraw from yesterday.
Says Emily Eavis: “Once we heard the sad news that Foo Fighters had been forced to pull out, there was only one person we wanted to call and that was Florence. Every time she has played here she’s done something spectacular and we always knew she would headline the Pyramid one day. I’m delighted she’s agreed to step up to it – she’s going to smash it!”
Full revised Pyramid Stage set timings for Friday will be announced soon.”
