Florence + The Machine scores first US number 1 with ‘How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful’
Florence’s latest album sold double the amount of Taylor Swift’s ‘1989’.
Florence + The Machine have topped the US Billboard charts for the first time, following the release of third album ‘How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful’
Released last week (1st/2nd June), the news of Florence’s latest success in the states follows topping the Official Album Charts in the UK last week. In the midweek UK charts, Florence + The Machine currently sits at number 2, having been knocked off the top by Muse’s newly released album ‘Drones’.
According to Billboard, ‘How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful’ sold 137,000 units during its first week, beating off Taylor Swift’s ‘1989’ which sold 66,000 units.
Earlier this week, Florence + The Machine announced details of a new tour of the UK and Ireland, beginning in September. Tickets for the tour go on sale on Friday 12 June at 9am via the official website. Catch them on the following dates:
