Foo Fighters announce last-minute Chicago gig, ‘Sonic Highways’ show premiere

Foo Fighters have announced plans to air the world premiere of ‘Sonic Highways’ at a Chicago gig later this week.

They’ll play The Cubby Bear on Friday 17th October, tickets are on sale tomorrow. It’s an HBO Presents gig, with the ‘Sonic Highways’ documentary gaining its first play. It’s a 21+ age policy, with a maximum of 2 tickets per purchase. Check out the awesome poster here and grab tickets here.

This week sees Dave Grohl and co. taking over The Late Show with David Letterman - each night, they’ll play a new song as well as discussing the making of ‘Sonic Highways’, out 10th November.

They began the Letterman residency by covering ‘War Pigs’, originally by the Sabbath in 1970.

’Sonic Highways’ arrives in the form of an LP and a new documentary, which sees the band landing in different US cities to record, while Grohl interviews musical legends from different sides of the country.

Each episode is devoted to a different musical landmark in the U.S. - Austin, Chicago, Los Angeles, Nashville, New Orleans, New York, Seattle and Washington, D.C.It’s set to air on BBC Four from Sunday 26th October.
