Foo Fighters announce new album ‘Sonic Highways’ for November release
Dave Grohl and co’s eighth studio album will be released on 10th November.
Foo Fighters have announced details of their new album, ‘Sonic Highways’, following up their promise of some big news to be delivered today.
The band’s eighth studio album will feature eight tracks and is set to be released on 10th November. You can check a full track listing, album art and a teaser trailer featuring a snippet of a new song below, as well as pre-order the record from the band’s website now.
‘Sonic Highways’ was recorded in eight different studios across North America - Chicago, Austin, Nashville, Los Angeles, Seattle, New Orleans, Washington DC, and New York - with each city providing a guest musician (eg. Eagles’ Joe Walsh for Los Angeles), and every song being devoted to the city of choice.
There’s also going to be nine different album covers available: one representing each of the eight cities that inspired the record, along with one final piece of artwork, suitably dubbed their ‘forever’ cover.
Last month, completion on the album was confirmed in a tweet from producer Butch Vig, while frontman Dave Grohl recently told The Hollywood Report that, “you’ll recognize Foo Fighters in this record but you’ll also be surprised by us. We’re doing things that we’ve never done before.”
The Foos make their UK live return on 14th September at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London.
