Foo Fighters confirm 1,500 capacity crowdfunded show details

The band will play the (relatively) intimate date later this month.

Earlier this year 1,400 Foo Fighters fans bought $50 tickets for a show that didn’t exist. Except now, it does.

The fans picked up the tickets as part of a crowdfunding campaign hoping the band would return to play Richmond, Virginia for the first time in 16 years. The band agreed they would, and now they’ve announced when and where.

As revealed by Foo Fighters on Twitter, they’ll play the 1,500 capacity The National, meaning tickets are limited to those originally taking a punt before the show was confirmed. Those that didn’t chance their arm may be in luck, though - two local businesses Brown’s Volkswagen and Sugar Shack Donuts are giving away tickets they bought with $5000 donations.

Foo Fighters are currently preparing for their new album ‘Sonic Highways’, set for release on November 10th via Rosewell Records.

‘Sonic Highways’ was recorded in eight different studios across North America - Chicago, Austin, Nashville, Los Angeles, Seattle, New Orleans, Washington DC, and New York - with each city providing a guest musician (eg. Eagles’ Joe Walsh for Los Angeles), and every song being devoted to the city of choice.

There’s also going to be nine different album covers available: one representing each of the eight cities that inspired the record, along with one final piece of artwork, suitably dubbed their ‘forever’ cover.
