Foo Fighters hint at ‘Sonic Highways’ season two, based in the UK
Globe-trotting music documentary premiered on HBO last year.
Foo Fighters’ studio-visiting ‘Sonic Highways’ series could be commissioned for a second series, claims Dave Grohl.
The first series - premiered last year on HBO before being aired on BBC Four - linked up with the group’s eighth album, which was recorded in eight different American cities. It’s set to gain a DVD release on 7th April, featuring interviews from Dolly Parton, Joan Jett and Barack Obama.
Speaking to Billboard, Grohl confirmed: “There might be a season two,” stating that “there are a lot of studios.” He hinted at the potential of covering the UK for a second series by saying: “If we went to somewhere like Abbey Road it’d be fun to interview someone like Paul McCartney or George Martin, that’d be kind of cool.”
Citing his bandmate Taylor Hawkins as an anglophile, he said: “Taylor is one to ask about the UK studios, he’s been to them all, even if they’re kebab shops now. He’ll show up and be like, ‘You guys know that they fucking recorded Queen’s The Game in here, right.”
