Foo Fighters issue joke response to Jack White’s on-stage comments

Foo Fighters, bearers of all guitars, have issued a quick response to comments made by Jack White while on stage at a recent Boston show.

The former White Stripes frontman took to the stage on Wednesday night, jokingly taking to a “Kanye West-esque rant” that was loaded with sarcasm and took shots at the Foos and Rolling Stone (.com!).

He initially declared that “most performers don’t use microphones anymore,” when taking to the stage. He said Foo Fighters were guilty of “playing the same parts” on two guitars in order to cover up mistakes.

This was all in jest, according to the publicist that deals with both the Foos and Jack White. However, the former issued a tongue-in-cheek response in Twitter by posting the following photo:

Subsequent to this, a press release was issued stating that everything Jack initially said was a cheeky dig, not some serious complaint. It also claims that Jack and Dave Grohl spoke personally about the incident yesterday (18th September).

“Dear dream-makers of the media….

Last night Jack White made a joke on stage!

There was a minor equipment mishap, specifically with his guitar, and in an effort to keep his audience engaged, he made a joke! It was meant to be funny and self deprecating: “hey sorry, you’re stuck with just me up here…” vs the Foo Fighters who have three guitar players on stage and regularly play stadium shows.

Jack has the upmost respect for the Foo Fighters and communicated with Grohl this morning.

So if you’ll let us, we’ll all continue with our day and we assure you: All is well in the rock n roll world.”
