Foo Fighters named new favourites to headline Glastonbury 2015
Odds slashed following comments from Dave Grohl expressing the band’s interest.
Foo Fighters are now the bookies’ favourites to headline Glastonbury 2015.
Dave Grohl and co. are priced at 8/11 (previously 14/1) to headline next year, following the frontman’s comments to NME that the band would be interested in a top slot.
Previously, Fleetwood Mac were touted to headline the festival. However, frontman Mick Fleetwood suggested that the band would definitely not appear at next year’s festival. In a recent interview with Chris Evans on BBC Radio 2, they further claimed that they were unlikely to play.
Elsewhere, the odds lie with Muse and Prince as potential Glastonbury headliners. Fleetwood Mac remain in the running, with Elton John and Led Zeppelin also tipped by bookmakers.
William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke said: “There’s a real gamble on for Foo Fighters to play at Glastonbury, but at this stage it looks like a combination of hopeful fans and those following the rumour-mill. Perhaps given the weight of money we’ve seen, there may be some truth in the rumours.”
Odds from William Hill (as of 6th November 2014):
Foo Fighters (8/11)
Fleetwood Mac (6/4)
AC/DC (6/1)
Muse (10/1)
Taylor Swift (12/1)
Led Zeppelin (16/1)
Elton John (20/1)
Pink Floyd (20/1)
Prince (20/1)
The Stone Roses (20/1)
Daft Punk (25/1)
David Bowie (25/1)
Iron Maiden (25/1)
Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds (25/1)
U2 (25/1)
