Done and dusted
Foo Fighters’ new album is 100% complete
Follow-up to 2011’s ‘Wasting Light’ is out this November.
Foo Fighters have officially completed work on their new album , which is tentatively due out this winter.
Producer Butch Vig confirmed the news in a tweet on 30th July. He described the record as “epic” following 23 straight days of mixing.
The record’s been given a release date of November (TBC), and it’s due out on Roswell Records via RCA. It was recorded in eight different studios across the country, with each city providing a guest musician (eg. Eagles’ Joe Walsh for Los Angeles), and every song being devoted to a city of choice.
“You’ll recognize Foo Fighters in this record but you’ll also be surprised by us. We’re doing things that we’ve never done before,” said frontman Dave Grohl about the record in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
Yesterday Foo Fighters confirmed their live return to the UK - they’ll play Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London on Sunday 14th September. The bill also features Kaiser Chiefs, Ellie Goulding, Ryan Adams, The Vamps, Rizzle Kicks, Diversity, James Blunt and the Military Wives Choirs. The event was launched earlier this year by Prince Harry.
