Foo Fighters perform live on Austin City Limits
The band played a career-spanning nine song set.
This weekend, Foo Fighters appeared on the US television show Austin City Limits in support of their eighth studio album, Sonic Highways. Their nine-song set included three tracks from that album, alongside the classic ‘Times Like These’ and ‘Best Of You’.
Their recent tour of South America saw the band perform a number of cover songs during their set, and Austin City Limits was no different. Joined by local heroes, Jimmie Vaughan and Gary Clark Jr., the five-piece tore through a rendition of The Fabulous Thunderbirds’ ‘Tuff Enuff’.
In other related news, the band’s bassist Nate Mendel is gearing up to release his solo album, under the name Lieutenant. The album ‘If I Kill This Thing We’re Going To Eat For A Week’ features members of The Shins, Hemlet and Sunny Day Real Estate as well as Foo Fighters’ guitarist Chris Shiflett and is out on 10th March.
Foo Fighters resume their Sonic Highways world tour in New Zealand on 18th February and will be hitting the stadiums of the UK this summer, including two dates at Wembley Stadium alongside Royal Blood and Iggy Pop, as follows.

27 Manchester, Emirates Old Trafford
