Foo Fighters release new ‘Saint Cecilia’ EP
Dave Grohl says the five-track release took on an “entirely different tone” in light of the Paris attacks.
Foo Fighters have followed up their ‘Sonic Highways’ album with a brand new EP, ‘Saint Cecilia’.
The five-track release has been released to mark the end of the group’s world tour, coming after a broken leg, a cancelled Glastonbury appearance and countless shows worldwide.
Frontman Dave Grohl has written an extensive letter to fans, documenting the last twelve months of touring and the highs and lows of life on the road. Read the whole thing in full below a stream of ‘The Neverending Sigh’, the EP’s lead track.
Available to download for free now, it can also be pre-ordered on vinyl via an official site.
On that same site, Foo Fighters have linked to a donation page to victims of the tragic Paris attacks. Grohl says the new songs have taken on a “different tone” in light of the recent tragedies. “There is a new, hopeful intention that, even in the smallest way, perhaps these songs can bring a little light into this sometimes dark world. To remind us that music is life, and that hope and healing go hand in hand with song. That much can never be taken away.”
