Dave Grohl and Co unleashed the first cut from forthcoming album ‘Sonic Highways’ on Zane Lowe’s show.

Foo Fighters reveal new track 'Something From Nothing'

The whole concept of creating ‘Something From Nothing’ is absolutely chemically impossible according to the laws of physics. That applies to everything, apart from Foo Fighters, of course.

Dave Grohl and Co. have been spinning quite the yarn, what with audio snippets, teasers and trailers ahead of their forthcoming album ‘Sonic Highways’. This week they are taking over The Late Show with David Letterman, and each night, they’ve played a new song, along with discussing the making of ‘Sonic Highways’, out 10th November via Columbia Records.

’Sonic Highways’ arrives in the form of an LP, as well as in documentary form. The band recorded in different US cities, and in the documentary Grohl interviews musical legends from different sides of the country, as well as taking a look at a musical US landmark each episode. It’s set to air on BBC Four from Sunday 26th October.

“Part of the idea behind this was how the environment influences the music,” explained the band’s Taylor Hawkins, being interviewed by Zane Show on his Radio One Show. “Usually with a documentary it will pull back the curtains on a band,” the Foos added, “but with this, it shows the inspiration, and that’s the challenge.”

Until now, there hasn’t been an actual Foo Fighters song. That changed when Zane Lowe gave the track a spin on his show after some drawn out build-up, and many, many Foo Fighters tracks to amp up the suspense. Eventually, they made their hotly awaited return.

‘Fuck it all, I came from nothing!’ snarls Grohl defiantly, welcoming in a breakneck guitar solo like the song’s own circus ringmaster. They’ve done it again, this is straight up rock n’ roll madness. It’s like Foo Fighters never left.
