Foo Fighters’ ‘Sonic Highways’ documentary to get UK airing on BBC Four
The Foos’ “journey through American music history” accompanies their new album.
Ahead of the release of their new album, Foo Fighters are bringing out a musical series about America’s music history, also titled ‘Sonic Highways’.
Airing on HBO in the US, BBC Four has confirmed plans to get the first play of the show in the UK.
The documentary covers the process behind Dave Grohl and co. recording their eighth studio album, and it’s being described as “a love letter to the history of American music.”
Each episode is devoted to a different musical landmark in the U.S. - Austin, Chicago, Los Angeles, Nashville, New Orleans, New York, Seattle and Washington, D.C.
Speaking about the series, BBC Four Editor Cassian Harrison said: “BBC Four is renowned for its music programming and I am delighted we have acquired this innovative series that takes viewers into the very roots of popular music, in an epic nationwide odyssey.”
‘Sonic Highways’ is out 10th November on Roswell Records. The TV series begins on BBC Four from Sunday 26th October.
