Foo Fighters to play “surprise” birthday gig for Dave Grohl

To celebrate his 46th birthday, Grohl and co. will be making a special “in the round” appearance.

About to turn the ripe old age of 46 next week, Dave Grohl has decided that he’s not gonna throw a himself a birthday party this year: instead, the Foos frontman will celebrate his special day early by playing a Foo Fighters show at The Forum in Los Angeles.

Taking place this Saturday 10th January, the show will be an “in the round” style performance at the venue, which previously featured in the Foos video for ‘All My Life’.

Tickets are priced at $50 and are on sale now, with $10 from each sale being donated to a selection of three charities: Rock School Scholarship Fund, MusiCares, and Sweet Relief.

The show will also double as the band’s first of 2015 and, as well as marking Dave’s birthday, will serve as a warm-up for their huge world tour that kicks off in South America later this month.

That same tour will bring Foo Fighters to the UK this summer, when they’ll play the following stadium dates.

MAY
25 Stadium of Light, Sunderland
27 Old Trafford, Manchester

JUNE
19 Wembley Stadium, London
20 Wembley Stadium, London
23 Murrayfield, Edinburgh
