Surprise, surprise!
Foo Fighters to play surprise second UK show this week?
The band hint on Twitter that their Olympic Park show next Sunday may not be their only UK show.
Foo Fighters have hinted at plans for a second UK show while they’re in the country for next Sunday’s Invictus Games.
Taking place on Sunday 14th September, the bill for the London Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park event also features Kaiser Chiefs, Ellie Goulding, Ryan Adams, The Vamps, Rizzle Kicks, Diversity, James Blunt and the Military Wives Choirs.
However, posting on Twitter, the band wrote: “Michael and Freddy think it would be a shame to just do one show while we’re in the UK.”
The tweet was accompanied by a photo of the band’s set up, including a bass drum featuring a photo of Michael Jackson and Freddy Mercury.
Foo Fighters are currently preparing for their new album ‘Sonic Highways’, set for release on November 10th via Rosewell Records.
‘Sonic Highways’ was recorded in eight different studios across North America - Chicago, Austin, Nashville, Los Angeles, Seattle, New Orleans, Washington DC, and New York - with each city providing a guest musician (eg. Eagles’ Joe Walsh for Los Angeles), and every song being devoted to the city of choice.
There’s also going to be nine different album covers available: one representing each of the eight cities that inspired the record, along with one final piece of artwork, suitably dubbed their ‘forever’ cover.
