Frightened Rabbit Announce UK And Ireland Tour

The Scottish five-piece will play a number of dates across the UK and Ireland in September, and will also appear at this year’s Hop Farm Festival.

Following a short tour of the Scottish highlands earlier in the year, Frightened Rabbit have announced details of a tour of the UK and Ireland.

The Scottish five-piece, who haven’t released an album since their 2010 third full-length ‘The Winter Of Mixed Drinks’, will play nine shows across Northern and the Republic of Ireland and five across England and Scotland this coming September.

The band, who have been writing and recording their fourth record in Wales over the past few months, will also appear at this year’s Hop Farm Festival in Kent.

They’ll kick off the tour in Portrush on September 6 before performing in Belfast, Dublin, Cork, Galway, and more. They’ll then head over to England on September 18 to perform in London, then heading on to Manchester, Dumfries, and their hometown of Selkirk. Tickets for the English and Scottish dates are on sale today, while the Irish dates will go on sale next week.

Talking about the fourth record, lead singer Scott Hutchinson said: ‘The new record is taking a slightly more stripped back direction than the last album. It’s a little darker - we’ve been writing in the minor key a bit more, and the whole thing is a far more collaborative effort, which has lead to interesting new elements appearing in the songs.’
