The lineup for the inaugural Rock in Rio USA has been announced and it features some big names, from Taylor Swift to Metallica.

The festival, which is set to take place in Las Vegas this May, will be spread across two consecutive weekends at the newly constructed City of Rock.

The first weekend (May 8-9), known as the ‘Rock Weekend’, offers up the likes of Deftones, Linkin Park, Rise Against and Coheed and Cambria on the bill. But it’s not all riffs and grimacing – Foster The People, Bleachers and Gary Clark Jr. will be appearing across the weekend, with a Main Stage headline performance from No Doubt also on the cards.

The lineup for weekend two (May 15-16), or the ‘Pop Weekend’, features some of the top players in the genre today. Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars, Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, Charli XCX, Jessie J, John Legend, we could go on. Rising stars James Bay, Mikky Ekko, Tove Lo and Magic! will also appear on the Sunset Stage.

More acts are still to be announced, including the full lineup for the Electronic Stage.

Aside from the impressive lineup, the location of the festival will be somewhat of a spectacle to behold itself. The 33-acre, 80,000-person capacity City of Rock will boast five stages, as well as several “streetscapes” designed to look like the UK, Brazil, and the USA, with geographically-appropriate food, shops and street art.

Festival goers can also experience amusement rides such as a giant roulette table ferris wheel and a 400ft zip-line which, if all goes to plan, will take fans to the front of the Main Stage.

You can view the full lineup, so far, here. Tickets and VIP passes are available here.
