Fruit Bomb preview Art Is Hard’s ‘Family Portrait’ with ‘Normcore Girlfriend’ track
Rollicking, romantic fuzz feast features on a split release with Bruising, Abattoir Blues & more.
This May, beloved South West label Art Is Hard releases its latest ‘Family Portrait’, a bringing together of fuzz-inclined bands repping a DIY mentality. The first of its kind featured Joanna Gruesome and Playlounge, so take this to be a pointer of exciting, scrappy garage punk happenings.
‘Family Portrait pt.II’ features Brighton “thugcore” tikes Abattoir Blues, fizzing duo Bruising, Canadians Living Hour and Fruit Bomb, a berserk, fiendish new band spiralling out as a side project from Nai Harvest.
DIY’s got the first play of Fruit Bomb’s ‘Normcore Girlfriend’, which gives into the moment and thrashes by at a dangerous rate. Swamped in layer-upon-layer of heady guitars, it’s a declaration of frustration wrapped up in giddy joy.
Abattoir Blues, Bruising and Fruit Bomb all play the following dates:
MAY
06 Leeds, Nation of Shopkeepers
07 Manchester, Fallow Cafe
08 Brighton, Green Door Store
09 London, The Old Blue Last
