Garbage Work On New Album, Release Collaboration With Serj Tankian

The band are gearing up for a return later in the year.

Garbage have nearly completed work on their new album.

The band, who reformed in 2010 to write new material, have been holed up in GrungeIsDead studios in Los Angeles, owned by member Butch Vig. They are believed to have completed all songs for the as-yet-untitled full length, expected for release in late 2011. It’s set to be their first studio album since 2005’s ‘Bleed Like Me’, with the quartet also publicly expressing an interest in touring this year.

Frontwoman Shirley Manson, meanwhile, has collaborated with System Of A Down’s Serj Tankian. Their track ‘The Hunger’, taken from Serj’s musical ‘Prometheus Bound’, has been released on iTunes with all profits going towards Amnesty International.
