Gretel drops latest ‘Squish’ preview ‘Fire Blooming Trees’

Gretel is back with new track ‘Fire Blooming Trees’, another teaser of her forthcoming debut album ‘Squish’ (due out on 10th April via Breadcrumb Records / AWAL). 

It follows recent cuts ‘Squish’, ‘Darkness, be my friend’, ‘Maybelline’, and ‘Unbloom’ to be our fifth taste of what to expect from the LP, and continues in the same grungy, ’90s-tinged vein as its predecessors. Recorded live, ‘Fire Blooming Trees’ takes its name from the 2025 LA wildfires, and explores both social desolation and the hope of reconstruction. 

“I love this one so much,” Gretel has shared, explaining that the single is “about overconsumption and over-saturation in our world and finding the humanity behind all the algorithms.” 

To mark the release of ‘Squish’, Gretel will be playing a celebratory headline show at London’s Oslo on 14th April, for which tickets are on sale now.
