Grimes has opened up some more about her new album

“It’s the first record that I’ve made that I can listen to with other people around and not cringe and feel horrified. I think that’s a good sign.”

Details of Grimes’ upcoming new full-length have been few and far between, but if a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly is to be believed, we should be seeing the full thing this autumn.

“I think I want to [announce] it right before and be like, ‘This is the title and my album is coming out in three days’” says Claire Boucher, hinting at a mini-Beyoncé for the as-yet-still-untitled follow-up to 2012’s ‘Visions’.

Boucher goes on to describe the record as “the first record that I’ve made that I can listen to with other people around and not cringe and feel horrified. I think that’s a good sign.” Yeah, probs.

Standalone single ’REALiTi’ (below) may be making an appearance on the record too - though in a different form from the one debuted in March. “By popular demand, I did try to remake “Realiti” and it is really good now,” she explains, modestly. “I’m considering putting it on the record. I had to re-produce it for the live show anyway. I don’t like ‘Realiti’, but everybody else does. I may put it on by popular demand, I don’t know.” She goes on to explain how she hates all her singles equally - “all the songs that are singles are all songs people have to forced me to do”.

The record is “pretty much all alter-egos” and “a million different styles” too apparently. So there we have it - new Grimes, coming sooner than we might think. Get excited.
