Grimes shares family holiday song, ‘Christmas Song II (grinch)’
Annual tradition sees Claire Boucher collab’ing with Jay Worthy.
“It’s motherfucking Christmas!” sings Grimes in a new family holiday song, ‘Christmas Song II (Grinch)’, a Boucher family tradition of recording a holiday song every year “in order to avoid obligatory dinner”.
Full of cuss words and amazing seasonal-inspired dance routines, the new track streaming below is “NOT a single from the upcoming album, not a serious piece of art in any capacity and not an official grimes release,” Claire Boucher states on her Tumblr. It sees her collaborating with step-brother Jay Worthy.
“I like to periodically release songs since my album is taking so long and i make a lot of songs that i wouldn’t put on an album but i nonetheless enjoy so thats what this is,” she adds.
This year saw Grimes releasing one standalone single in ‘Go’, before revealing that initial sessions for a follow up to ‘Visions’ were scrapped last January.
A new full-length is anticipated for 2015.
