Grimes shares plans for “final album for my shit label”, set to be “highly collaborative”

At the start of the month, Grimes revealed that her new album would be out this year.It was a statement quickly taken back, though, with Claire Boucher saying there would be “no music any time soon”, blaming the “trash” music industry.The drama seems to be continuing, with the singer telling a fan on Instagram that she’s planning her “final album for my shit label”, with another also in the works.“Today is a good day,” she wrote. ”im back in studio making a million beats.”

She says the two albums will be “separated by a period of time,” with the first album being her “final album for my shit label.” Said final album was described by Grimes as “highly collaborative and most glorious light,” and will be followed by her “first album on a label of my choosing which I’m crazy stoked about.” That album’s set to be “extreme darkness and chaos”.Well then, it doesn’t look like Grimes is too happy with her label, but is still working on a hell of a lot of music. Swings and roundabouts eh.
