Hear Kindness’ insane rework of Röyksopp and Robyn’s ‘Monument’

‘A Monument To Everything’ sees Adam Bainbridge working with South African poet Busiswa.

When Scandinavian giants Röyksopp and Robyn decided to collaborate on a mini-album for the first time, ‘Monument’ was the kick-starter. A lumbering, 10-minute emotion-tugger, the track contains perhaps the longest, most unassuming sax solo on record, and it also happens to be a beautiful opener on ‘Do It Again’.

The sax isn’t totally ignored in a new Kindness remix of the song, but everything else is shoved to one side. Adam Bainbridge - who’s been working with Robyn during sessions for his new LP ‘Otherness’ - adds in a lifetime’s supply of slap bass and a few trusty contacts to his reinterpretation of ‘Monument’. Most notable is Busiswa, a South African performance poet who interjects with sudden, jolting lines in a “remix” that spans just over the six minute mark.

‘A Monument To Everything’ is the new title, and it’s streamable below via the Fader.
