Hot Chip’s cover of William Onyeabor given John Talabot rework

The ‘Atomic Bomb’ remix is to be released on Record Store Day

Hot Chip’s cover of William Onyeabor given John Talabot rework

For Record Store Day 2014, David Byrne’s Luaka Bop put out a compilation of covers and remixes in honour of the Nigerian synth-funk pioneer William Onyeabor. Amongst others, ‘What!?’ featured versions from The Vaccines, Daphni, JD Twitch and Hot Chip’s cover of ‘Atomic Bomb’.

As 2015’s edition of Record Store Day rolls round, Luaka Bop are up to their old tricks again with Hot Chip’s version of the track being given another re-imagination. This time it’s at the hands of Barcelona producer John Talabot.

The list of names queuing up to put their stamp on Onyeabor’s just seems to go on, with this remix forming part of another compilation penned for a Record Store Day release this month.
