Interpol’s Daniel Kessler announces new project, Big Noble

Hear ‘PEG’, the first track from Kessler and Joseph Fraioli’s debut album.

Interpol guitarist Daniel Kessler has announced a new project, Big Noble. The new band sees Kessler working with sound designer Joseph Fraioli on something that uses the former’s distinctive, delay-driven guitar work for more cinematic purposes.

It’s evidenced in ‘PEG’, a lead track from debut album ‘First Light’ that comes accompanied by a distant, murky, landscape video - it’s viewable below.

The project’s origins began back in 1999 when Kessler met Fraioli via the same label, Caipirinha. The latter describes Big Noble as “immersive and perspective-changing…sonically a lot of the arrangements feel technically vast, but there’s an intimacy that I hope listeners will find addictive to escape within.”

‘First Light’ is out 2nd February 2015. Pre-order here.
