It looks like Dave Grohl is working on new material without the Foo Fighters
The band have also been hinting towards solo material from Grohl.
It looks like Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl is now at work on new solo material separate from the band. His producer pal Butch Vig - who produced Nirvana’s ‘91 album ‘Nevermind,’ and more recently Foo’s ‘Sonic Highways’ - hinted as such in a new interview with The Daily Beast.
Vig said that he and Grohl recently met up to work on new songs togather, saying “I just met with Dave and he’s been writing some songs, but there are no plans for more Foos. I know he talked about another ‘Sonic Highways’,” he added, “but nothing’s come to fruition yet.”
“But did you see the [hiatus announcement] clip online?” Vig added, referencing the Foo Fighter’s incredibly tongue-in-cheek hiatus announcement video from earlier this month. “You gotta go check it out. It’s Dave Grohl’s new solo record. He released a little video, and it’s… it’s funny.” It is very funny, tbh.
The band have also been hinting towards solo material from Grohl. The video Butch Vig mentions shows Dave Grohl toying with a ‘hip’ new electronic solo direction, and importantly, it also shows that his broken leg is now in one piece again. Yay! Watch the clip in question below.
