Jack White Plays Mammoth SXSW Set

White Stripes tracks feature heavily in the 90-minute performance.

Jack White played a massive 90-minute set at SXSW yesterday (16th March), one which included many White Stripes tracks.

The performance, as part of the Third Man Records showcase at the Stage on Sixth, featured two halves: as on Saturday Night Live, one featuring an all-female band, the other all-male.

The set included eight White Stripes songs, according to Pitchfork’s report, one Raconteurs, one Dead Weather and a cover of Leadbelly’s ‘Goodnight, Irene’ in addition to ten of his solo numbers.

Oh, and Bill Murray was there. Apparently.

One of the tracks from Jack’s solo debut, ‘Blunderbuss’, single ‘Sixteen Saltines’ (the album follows on 23rd April), can be previewed below.
