Jack White plays surprise acoustic show in Anchorage, Alaska

First performance is part of the all-acoustic $3 shows in states White has never played before.

Jack White is currently on his first all-acoustic tour in America, playing at five states that he has never played before. White announced his brief tour last week, while confirming his intention to take a break from touring “for a long period of time.”

The first of the shows took place on Monday (20th April) evening, with an announcement in the morning stating his appearance in Anchorage, Alaska. Each show will follow the pattern of a surprise announcement in the morning of the performance, with tickets costing $3.

As Consequence of Sound reports, fan footage shows White and his three-piece band perform a setlist that included ‘We’re Going To Be Friends’, ‘Love Interruption’, ‘A Martyr For My Love For You’, ‘Goodnight Irene’, and covers of Hank Williams and Johnny Cash. There’s also recent footage of White and Jack Johnson playing ‘We’re Going To Be Friends’ in Hawaii.

Consequence of Sound have also worked out that White’s remaining shows will take place in Idaho, Wyoming, and the two Dakotas. Follow Third Man Records’ Twitter account to hear the news first and watch fan footage of the Alaska and Hawaii concerts below.
